I am grateful for aeronautic engineering that can keep a huge plane full of people and their luggage flying across the country.

Today I am grateful for a love of reading and a love of history. I am especially fond of the history of our nation and its leaders. I find it interesting and comforting to read about them and find that they are as close to being normal as they can be. I am currently reading Mrs. Kennedy and Me, by Clint Hill.
Today I am grateful for faculty that need my expertise and the patience God has given me to work with some of the difficult challenges that I face in helping the faculty that I work with. This is an image of the computer screen where I am teaching myself some new features of a program so I can help the nursing faculty. 
I am grateful for the views out of the windows of my house. I looked out my bedroom window this morning as a gentle snow flurry fell. The kayak in the back yard caught my eye. This is my idea of nature's still life.
Today is a bit different from my regular grateful days. I'm feeling self-conscious, but I am grateful that the Dr. was able to remove the 2 spots of skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) that I had on my nose. There are many stitches and I am having a reaction to the adhesive. My face is swollen. While I am not happy with the way things look and feel right now, I am grateful for the skill of the doctor and that we caught it early.
Wrinkles, I never thought I would be grateful for wrinkles. For each wrinkle visible on my hand, I have a memory or a stress or strain on my life that made me stronger. I am grateful now for each one.
I am grateful to live in a country where my water is clean and drinkable, straight from the faucet.

During a recent snow storm, catching a glimpse of this frozen kayak in the backyard made me giggle. I am grateful for a sporty husband that likes a wide variety of sports.

Today I am grateful for the fresh ice cubes that come from my freezer door at the push of a button. It is a simple thing, but I remember having to make ice in trays and remembering to fill the tray and then to dump it. This little convenience is something that makes my refreshment a little easier.
I enjoy looking at things from different views, such as this light as seen from above, in the night. i'm grateful for the eye to explore everyday things differently.
